THE TEACHER:  2017 EFA Feature Film Selection

European Film Academy has announced the titles of the 51 films (from 31 European countries) on 2017´s EFA Feature Film Selection, the list of feature fiction films recommended for a nomination for the European Film Awards 2017, including The Teacher.

ODDSOCKEATERS: IN THE ANIFILM IFAF COMPETITION

ANIFILM Competition of Feature Films is dominated by European entries this year. Galina Miklínová’s The Oddsockeaters is the only 3D CGI animated film in the final selection and the only one Czech/Slovak entry in the competition.

Anifilm 2017 takes place in Třeboň, Czech Republic 2nd - 7th May 2017.

Of the twelve posters from the Official Selection competition at the 51st Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, the winner was the poster for The Teacher directed by Jan Hřebejk.

Bratislava/Karlove Vary (May 31, 2016):

The International Film Festival Karlovy Vary (July 1 – 9 2016) unveils its Official Selection Competition line-up featuring two Slovak titles. One of them is Slovak-Czech co-production The Teacher by the acclaimed Czech director Jan Hřebejk.

The Teacher is Hřebejk's first Slovak majority film, starring well-known Slovakian actors such Zuzana Mauréry, Peter Bebjak, Zuzana Konečná, Csongor Kassai, Attila Mokos or Éva Bandor. The film was co-produced by PubRes (SK), OFFSIDEMEN (CZ), RTVS - Rozhlas a televízia Slovenska (SK) and Česká televize (CZ).

The sales are handled by LevelK. The film was supported by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund (SK), Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic (SK) and the State Cinematography Fund (CZ).
